The first stage foundry enters production phase at the Tikhvin Freight Car Building Plant
19.07.2010In accordance with the construction and commissioning schedule of the Tikhvin Freight Car Building Plant the first stage foundry has entered its production phase.
The first batch of imported equipment has been delivered to the Tikhvin Freight Car Building Plant
15.04.2010The plant’s foundry will be equipped with core machines produced by the German company Laempe, worldwide leading supplier of foundry equipment. The modern hi-tech core machines with up to 200 liters shoot volume and production capacity up to 80 cores pick-offs per hour, have been delivered to the Tikhvin Railway Car Building Plant.
The Tikhvin Freight Car Building Plant and Russian Railways conducted joint acceptance tests in the USA
12.04.2010Tests of engineering prototypes of Barber S-2-R freight bogie components (of Model 18-9810 with 23,5tf axial load and Model 18-9855 with 25tf axial load) were carried out in design department of the Standard Car Truck Company (SCTCO, Wabtec Corporation, Chicago, USA) as part of the program to master the new products by the plant.
Freight Car of US Design First Certified in Russia
01.04.2010The Tikhvin Freight Car Building Plant has obtained a compliance certificate from the State Registry of Certification on the Federal Railway Transport for a solid-bottom gondola of Model 12-9833 with the 23.5t axial load.
Tikhvin Freight Car Building Plant Contracted for Equipment Supply for over US$300 mln
10.03.2010The Tikhvin Freight Car Building Plant has concluded agreements for supply of robotized press brakes (KUKA, Germany), gondola and hopper car center sill welding line (ALTA, Czech), as well as of the equipment of scrap shearing and swarf briquetting (AТМ, Austria). The supply of this equipment is scheduled for Quarter III 2010.
