17.06.2020

Research and Production Corporation “United Wagon Company” (“UWC”, the “Group” or “Company”) (MOEX: UWGN), Russia’s largest manufacturer of freight cars1, is launching the UWC Young Leaders programme to promote the training and development of promising employees with high career growth potential. The project’s main objective is to build a talent pool that will one day be able to fill key management positions at the Group’s car-building enterprises.

UWC Young Leaders is a full-cycle development programme that aims to identify ambitious and talented employees, improving their skills and loyalty to the company. The programme’s pilot project is now up and running and will see up to 25 employees selected.

Participants of the programme will undergo several selection stages, taking into account recommendations from direct superiors and assessments based on the results of competency testing. An individual development plan will be drawn up for each participant admitted to the programme. Employees will be given further opportunities to prove themselves professionally, particularly through spearheading projects to improve production processes, training their professional and managerial skills, and undergoing internships at other subdivisions of the railway Group’s enterprises.

Timofey Khryapov, Chief Executive Officer at UWC: “The programme launch will not be affected by any external factors. We want to build a team of managers who will one day be capable of taking on positions of leadership at various levels within UWC enterprises. Those who work with complete dedication, show initiative, and strive towards development should be able to see a career path at their enterprise. This is hugely important. We will send the most gifted and capable candidates away for further training. Having top-quality factory employees is one of our core values.”
