Research and Production Corporation «United Wagon Company», CJSC (RPC UWC) and Carriage Repair Company-3 (VRK-3), OJSC have concluded an agreement on service maintenance of freight cars with advanced technical and economic characteristics. Therefore, RPC UWC became a partner of the Russian Railways’s main service maintenance assets such as VRK-1, VRK-2 and VRK-3.

Under the frame of the IX International Rail Business Forum “1520 Strategic Partnership” the companies agreed on establishing maintenance service center for RPC UWCs innovative freight cars on the basis of Belogorsk depot belonged to Zabaikal Railways.

The depot arranges works on current uncoupling repair of rolling stock, storage and delivery of required components to the external car repair enterprises. RPC UWC in its turn will provide training and certification of the Belogorsk depots specialists.

Roman Savushkin, CEO at RPC UWC, said: We are extensively implementing new generation rolling stock in the territory of 1520 mm gauge. Today more than 7,000 UWCs innovative cars operate in the railway, by the end of the year we plan to increase the amount up to approximately 20,000 cars. We are orderly increasing our service centers network, while expanding the fleet and geography of car operation.

Igor Volokitin, CEO at VRK-3, added: In the nearest future the segment of innovative rolling stock will take the great part of the Russian fleet. Introduction of such cars into the network will allow solving the most significant problems of freight traffic. We are pleased to join the RPC UWCs project and enter the market of innovative car service maintenance. We consider RPC UWC as a strategic partner and ready for long-term collaboration on expanding geography of our enterprises involved in this project.
